A top cop of 1974 batch joins MHA as special secretary, internal security

A SENIOR IPS officer Utthan Kumar Bansal is joining the ministry of home affairs (MHA) as special secretary, internal secretary, in the vacancy of Raman Srivastava, IPS. An Indian Police Service officer of 1974 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre, Mr Bansal was recently posted at Chandigarh as the ADG, (West) in Border Security Force (BSF). As the special secretary in-charge of internal security, his first challenge will be to curb the growing Naxal violence in many parts of the country.
