A chance for director-ranked officer to spend time in Assam’s picturesque tea gardens; How?

IF YOU are a deputy secretary or director-ranked officer eligible to be appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme, here is an opportunity to take a break up to five years from the hustle-bustle of a city life and spend time in Assam’s picturesque tea gardens. The DoPT has written to Union secretaries and chief secretaries of various states to…
nominate the names of eligible officers to fill up the post of Executive Director, Tea Board, Guwahati, under the department of commerce on a deputation basis. It is a non-Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) post to be filled through the civil services board procedure.
The names need to be forwarded within one month from the date of issue of this circular which is December 23, 2013.
In fact, the vacancy circular was issued earlier on October 10, 2013. And the officers who already applied against that circular need not apply again, the new circular said.
The period of deputation is 4 or 5 years for Deputy Secretary/Director respectively.
Tea Board has its head office in Kolkata, and has 21 offices in places such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Coonoor, Siliguri, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Itanagar etc. The Board has three overseas offices located in London, Dubai and Moscow mainly to undertake various promotional measures to boost export of Indian tea. As on March 31, 2012, for which data is available, the Board has 596 employees including 47 Group-A officers.
