VERY often retired secretaries become non-official directors in public sector enterprises. But can someone over the age of 65 be a non-official director in a Central PSU? Or can a serving CEO and director of a private company become an independent director? These and many other questions are being answered in the “Guidelines for Processing cases of Board Level Appointments in Central Public Sector Undertakings”, a handbook which has recently been published by the DoPT.
