2007 batch IAS Anurag Tiwari found dead in Lucknow; More about the officer

IN A shocking news in Wednesday morning, 2007 batch Karnataka cadre IAS Anurag Tiwari was found dead outside VIP guest house in Hazratganj area of Lucknow, leaving suspicions on whether it was an unnatural death. Initial reports however suggest that there was no foul play and it could be the result of high blood pressure, but the exact cause of the officer's death will be clearer only after the postmortem report is available. Here are more about this 36-year-old IAS officer:

1. Born in May 1981, Tiwari is a native of Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. 
2. He did electrical engineering from Lucknow before getting into IAS.
3. In Karnataka, he  served as deputy commissioner of districts like Tumkur and Kodagu.
4. Last year, he became the deputy commissioner of Bidar district of Karnataka when he played a key role in managing water crisis of the district.
5. He was also a managing director in the state’s food and civil supplies department. Currently, he is a commissioner in food and civil supplies department of the state.
6. He went to Punjab during the recent state elections as an election observer. 
7. According to local police in UP, there was an injury to his chin as he was lying in a roadside and passersby spotted him there. But no other mark was seen. 
8. Media reports say the officer went through a divorce after which he suffered from some depression.
9. Recently, he went to LBSNAA in Mussoorie for a mid-term training programme. 
10. The IAS Association in Twitter posted as below: “Shocked at the sad and untimely demise of our colleague Anurag Tiwari, IAS 2007 KN in Lucknow. May the departed soul rest in Peace.”
